
Dr. Probal Ghosh is a Ph.D. in Economics from Mumbai University. He has an experience of 19 years in modelling based policy analysis for energy and climate change mitigation issues. His expertise is in application of the optimisation techniques, econometric and time series methods to energy, climate change and macroeconomic issues. He has previously worked as consultant at the Planning Commission of India. He is currently the Deputy Director at IRADe, wherein he has developed number of modelling tools for analysis of climate change mitigation policies like IRADe’s activity analysis based macroeconomic model, power system models for India in Answer Times as well as MESSAGE ix framework and long term road transport models for India, Delhi, Gujarat, Odisha and Assam. His current research interest is in assessing economy wide Net Zero pathways, food energy water nexus, cross border electricity trade and developing CGE model for India.
