
Dr Ritu Mathur is a climate and energy policy expert with a Master’s in Business Economics (Delhi University) and a PhD in Energy Science (Kyoto University, Japan). She has 3 decades of working and teaching experience in the areas of Energy & Climate Policy, Sustainable Development and Integrated Assessments & Energy System Modelling.
She currently serves as Senior Fellow and Director at The Energy and Resources Institute (TERI) and is also an Adjunct Faculty at TERI School of Advanced Studies (TERI-SAS). Her work contributed to national policy-making through inputs for formulation of India’s Nationally Determined Contribution (NDC) targets and delineating Low Carbon Strategies for Inclusive Growth apart from influencing decision making through involvement as Expert in Working Groups across Ministries. Dr Mathur has also contributed to the IPCC as a Lead Author in the 5th & 6th Assessment Reports and the 6th Global Environment Outlook apart from publishing widely across peer reviewed journals and book chapters and speaking at several National and International Conferences.
