Dr Indu K Murthy is Sector Head in the Climate, Environment and Sustainability team at CSTEP. She completed her bachelor's in Botany from Ethiraj College for Women, Chennai; master's in Botany from M S University, Baroda (with specialisation in Forestry and Environment); and PhD in Ecology and Environmental Sciences from Pondicherry University.
Prior to joining CSTEP, she worked as a Consultant Scientist at the Indian Institute of Science, Bengaluru.
Her areas of interest include climate change mitigation, vulnerability and risk assessment, adaptation and climate policy.
Indu is on the Governing Board of South Asia Consortium for Interdisciplinary Water Resources Studies (SaciWATERs). She is an expert with the UNFCCC Roster of Experts for India (for GHG Inventory), and a member of the REDD+ Cell constituted by the Government of Karnataka. She is an Associate Editor for International Journal of Climate Change Strategies and Management, an Academic Editor on the PLOS ONE and PLOS Climate Editorial Board, and a member of the Technical Advisory Committee of Mahila Abhivruddhi Society, Andhra Pradesh (APMAS).
